Kevin D. Mercer

Miami personal injury attorney Kevin Mercer was raised in South Florida, where his family moved when he was only two weeks old. He grew up in Plantation and now lives in Miami. He graduated from the University of Florida as an undergraduate and graduated from the University of Florida College of Law with Honors. Before beginning the practice of law, Kevin also obtained his Master’s in Business Administration from Emory University in Atlanta and spent several years as a management consultant for Fortune 500 businesses. However, he soon realized that his passion was to help individuals and not companies. He then moved home to Miami and began to practice law.

From the very beginning of his 20-year legal career, Kevin has represented clients in personal injury cases involving automobile accidents, negligent security, sexual abuse, slip & falls, brain injuries and wrongful deaths. He has also represented clients in claims against their own insurance companies for payment of medical bills, hurricane claims, water damage, cast iron pipes and other homeowner’s property damage cases. His first job was with a small firm where he could get immediate trial experience. That allowed him to obtain significant litigation experience and he has taken many civil cases to successful jury trial verdicts since that time. He enjoyed the experience of having a more personal relationship with his clients and has chosen to maintain that small firm relationship ever since.

Kevin has had offices in Dade and Broward county, but currently maintains an office on Biscayne Boulevard and 108th Street where he has been for almost ten years. He is licensed to practice in all Florida state courts as well as the United States District court for the Southern District of Florida. He was married in 1999 and is now happily married with three kids.

Kevin is a member of the Florida Bar, the Dade County Bar Association, the Florida Justice Association and the Miami-Dade Justice Association. He is also an active member of his community and has handled frequent pro bono cases for South Florida clients.
